Battery testing, characterization and evaluation

LABD has available computerized equipment for testing of batteries, cells or electrodes according to the requirements of a number of standards for lead-acid battery testing including IEC, AAS, BSI, DIN, JIS, SAE and others. LABD team is well experienced in performing battery custom tests according to user defined test programs. The tests include dry charge and discharge, cold-cranking ability, cycle life, charge acceptance, self discharge and other tests.

LABD has designed and introduced in exploitation a computerized flow-meter to measure the rate and quantity of gases evolved during lead-acid batteries operation. This measurement allows very accurate estimation of the efficiency of battery charge, as well as precise assessment of the efficiency of the oxygen cycle in VRLA batteries.

There are material science laboratories of IEES - LABD staffed with skilled research workers, perform post-mortem analysis, including characterization in terms of chemical and phase composition active materials, structure, morphology and degree of hydration, density, porosity and BET surfaces measurements.

Based on the comprehensive tests and analyses the research scientists of LABD can identify the reasons for battery failure and provide expert evaluationof battery performance.
